My father-in-law was on the house judicial committee in the IL legislature and I remember visiting him in Springfield. He took us to a bar and pointed out the head of Ways and Means bunny hopping through the bar, drunk with a lovely young woman. I have a feeling that blackmailing most of these people is ridiculously easy. There’s just this vow of silence between the legislators, and a trust that reporters and lobbyists will also keep their mouths shut to serve their own purposes. Take care of me, I’ll take care of you. And so, when things get exposed, there’s only Q’s “watch the resignations” and the capitol gossip that we’ll never hear.
Against these sleazes, Pence just stands bright and shiny and smart.

Back in the days when you could listen in on cell phones with a scanner, the DA was talking to another official about their weekend “hunting” trip. He was explaining about the hookers he’d lined up and what they’d do for X amount of money. Give people the least bit of power they will usually head straight to the dark side.
