I've traveled pretty extensively in the Third World.I've seen poverty...*real* poverty...in such countries as India,Thailand,Kenya,Tanzania and Brazil (among others).
Long story short...there are two billion plus genuinely disadvantaged people on earth.Moving any substantial percentage of them to prosperous nations in North America,Europe and elsewhere would only damage those prosperous nations.
I could support wisely targeted foreign aid to the nations I've mentioned.Of course it *must* be insured that such aid doesn't wind up in the pockets of crooked politicians,or their pals....a class of individual that's in no short supply in the Third World (including in countries due south of the Rio Grande)/
There will always be poorer nations, as you mentioned in your response...but I consider Africa where decades and decades of foreign aid has done little but create a dependent Continent.... There leadership corruption does not change and those leaders are always at International Funding Events with their hands out..that never gets to the people!
