That is very true.
However, the definition of what a conservative candidate is has greatly diminished.
The GOPe has killed it’s brand value by deliberately merging with Democrat leftists into a Uniparty of compromise and lack of conviction.
Voters have become so disillusioned with voting in that it doesn’t seem to matter.
*It does. However, the quality of political candidate values, conviction and conduct mirror the majority of fat, dumb and happy American people.
We get what we deserve / will tolerate.
I won’t give up.
However, you can see the writing on the demographic & Overton window wall.
Slouching toward Gomorrah.

He is in his Obama costume, who he really is is not known. It is known, just not publicly (yet, hopefully soon).

Listen again with new ears and see if you don't get creeped out like I did.
Especially when you consider the song itself is about addiction. You can check out any time you like but you can never leave. Henley stated such in an interview. As Q says...These people are sick!

Something to add to the mix is that=if Mariah (Maggie?) was doing things under age, she (or handlers) may have lied about her age at some point.
Info in news articles, as we well know, is not necessarily factual.
So at this point until more research or evidence comes to light - who knows the facts?

Isis, Isil, IS or Daesh? One group, many names
And then there's Daesh..al-Dawla. The Syrian soldiers I follow say ISIS ISIL and Daesh talking about who they are going after.
The jihadist group which controls large swathes of territory in Syria and Iraq is sometimes referred to by different names by English-speaking governments and media.
When talking about the group - which has also spawned affiliates elsewhere in the Middle East, Africa and Asia - UN and US officials generally use the acronym "Isil", the acronym of "Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant".
But the term "Daesh" (or Da'ish) has also gained currency, both in the Middle East and further afield, and has been used as a way of challenging the legitimacy of the group due to the negative connotations of the word.
Daesh is essentially an Arabic acronym formed from the initial letters of the group's previous name in Arabic - "al-Dawla al-Islamiya fil Iraq wa al-Sham". Although it does not mean anything as a word in Arabic, it sounds unpleasant and the group's supporters object to its use.
Daesh also sounds similar to an Arabic verb that means to tread underfoot, trample down, or crush something.
The group itself has not used that name since June 2014 when it declared the creation a caliphate and shortened its name to "Islamic State" (IS) to reflect its expansionist ambitions.
Since then, BBC News has been using that term, but qualifying it as "Islamic State group" or "self-styled Islamic State" and shortening it to "IS" on subsequent mentions.
Other media have continued to use "Isil" or "Isis", which is based on the other widely used translations of the group's former name - "Islamic State in Iraq and Syria" or "Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham".
(IS, Isil and Isis The root of the Isil-Isis inconsistency lies in the Arabic word "al-Sham")Al-Sham can be translated variously as "the Levant", "Greater Syria", "Syria" or even "Damascus".

Henley has always struck me as a talented, perceptive guy who just also may be a closet sociopath. This thread isn't doing anything to improve my image of him.
According to Don Felder, he was worse than that. Felder referred to Henley and Frey as the Gods - and not in a fawning context.

That is interesting. Branson. What a cesspool.
To: Wingy
Frey and Henley, politically, were way way way to the left of my views, and that vibe is probably a factor in my passing on them in the '70's.
Yes. The political slant was the beginning of the end for Felder as he embarrassed Henley and Frey in front of one of their leftist politicians by pitching a fit about openly supporting them as a band.

ISIL was used by Barko’ because the “L” stands for The Levant which is the region where Isreal is, and thus includes more territory than the Iraq-Syria ISIS term.
He insisted on using ISIL because it was a direct FU to Isreal.

I'm another that for many songs never really thought about the words/meaning. Except some of course like the Beatles "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?", I get those.
When brought to my attention now the lyrics of Hotel California, I'm appalled!

You met Maggie H, down in the sewer, VERY early on in the campaign, NIKK.
You exposed her for the dirty rat she is, long ago.
