I'd like to read about 50 Comey memos to self to be sure, but the recording of this exchange seems highly contrived.

At the same time, it sets up the established or expected channel, so if there are any examples wehre Comey deviated from that channel without remark, well, he's out to skin Trump, plain and simple.
