Im considering filing for divorce. On the grounds of infidelity and betrayal and Im heartsick. Dont get me wrong, I adore my husband. Its my union with an intimate partner of more than three decades, the evangelical church, thats in trouble.

I didn’t mean to say Simon Peter was mean-spirited — sorry it came out that way.
I was responding to the daughter making an argument to her mother that Trump is mean-spirited - just because she says so - maybe because of his tweets - but it’s nothing but a catchall phrase that they think requires no further explanation .. never mind any context.
So it made me wonder .. would she say Peter was mean-spirited for his gruff behavior...his boastings...drawing his sword, etc.
If it’s a bad comparison in your mind, I apologize.

Then how do you explain Jesus’ rebuke to Peter? “What is that to you” does not seem like something one would say in answer to a brotherly or fatherly statement.

It could be a warm and reassuring “That’s in My hands, not yours.”
