Any casual analysis of the situation can easily project the end game: NK will continue - under China's patronage - to develop & deploy nuclear weapons. It makes no sense for the US to continue a heavy armed presence when a bypass is inevitable.
So, you take a guy like Trump who doesn't have any coin in the game, listens to the analysts project how many nukes NK will develop & deploy over the coming years/decades, and realizes the US presence is the hang up.
Dangle some big $money in front of the NK leadership, and allow (re) unification to proceed essentially no differently than when E Germany collapsed almost 30 years ago. US leaves, Korea is unified, China/US monitor/manage, and the peninsula is denuclearized.
Give the NK leaders & workers a taste of some $ and trim down in SE Asia, and Nelly, bar the door.
