On the main FR board, the cynics are all assuring themselves we and Trump are fools because Kim is going to hold the US up again for $$ and concessions and the SoKo President wants peace talks as a political pseudo-legacy. According to them it’s same old/same old.
Don’t know what it will take if even FReepers are such skeptics. I see similar posts everywhere, including Twit. Can’t distinguish progs from NeverTrumpers. I never suspected such a large contingent of the depressed. Nothing gives them hope. They want the talks to fail because they understand failure.
I wonder: if the talks succeed and when we have proof of denuclearization, will a new breed of *truthers* arise insisting it’s all a ruse?

I hear you. We’ve gone through a lot of pretty bad stuff as a nation in the last 100 years. (Lost a lot of freedom.) It’s hard to lose the cynicism. Things look like maybe a change is in the making. I’m truly hoping that by November 11 we have one heck of a big, beautiful military parade. I’m not counting on it though.
