Another aircraft also departed LGA today and diverted (to DCA) with some sort of wheel problem. Uneventful.

New York to Dallas flight. Emergency landing in Philly.

Apparently piece that broke was inside engine. Not visable with an inspection. Just wore out. Reporter says the airline has a very good maintenance record. “things break when they are used a lot”. Pilot is a woman and is getting much praise. One of first fighter pilots. Very well trained. LEts hear it for the military.
