No, while the goals are same and won't change, Iran and ISIS (or latest variant thereof) will remain implacable enemies. Good for the rest of the world. As usual in the Middle East it is a question of who will be the boss. Same deal to an extent in Lawrence of Arabia.

I let my anti-raggedy bias cloud my judgement. I, as a man who may have been a Crusader in a past life AND a Spartan, consider all raggedies the same insofar as they are the enemies of civilization. Arab, Persian whatever. And I personally don't give two damns about the difference between Suffi and Shia moslems.
I do get the English empire strategy of pitting tribe against tribe but I think we are beyond those games in this modern world. What are we, George Soros?
