That was 5 years ago. There is a new leadership in SA. There is a new alliance w/Trump.
I see no contradiction between “Current administration wants to facilitate functioning nation-state, free of puppetmasters” (today) and what happened 5 years in the past under different leaders on all sides.
I don’t necessarily take what Syrians (of all factions) post on Twitter as *truth*, either. Nor am I willing to take USA Today reporting at face value, especially from 5 years ago when zer0 had a stranglehold on all information.
Thanks for your comment, reformedliberal. I was thinking of responding too. We should always keep in mind, when thinking of Saudi Arabia, the changes that Mohammed bin Salman has already made, and his plans. Corrupt wealthy elites arrested and fined and imprisoned for some time, maybe some still are. Billions of $ of assets taken from them.
