Syrian state-run television claims that Assad’s air defences have confronted a new ‘aggression,’ shooting down ‘nine Israeli missiles’ over the area of Homs in the country’s centre.

Following reports of an Israeli strike, an Israeli military spokesman said: ‘I’m not aware of such an incident.’
