so, now, 20 years later, Comey runs across the same type of behavior by the same suspects and doesn't weigh prior behavior as a factor\pattern ? when the FBI loves patterns ?

The way the twin towers dropped is consistent with the plane strikes. There would be no need for any charges.

Not to say the US was unaware of the plan, at least in general terms, and no question the FBI turned a blind eye to the student pilots, just as it does to school shooters.

I firmly believe the US government would allow terrorism and military attacks against its own people, in order to advance more control. Whether 9/11 was one such, or the level of timing and mission awareness in advance, I don't think it matters at all. The intention of the government is to allow a certain amount of chaos, to the extent that it can know of and not stop a plan.

Whether or not it knew the specifics of 9/11 in advance doesn't matter so much. If they had known, would they have stopped it? I doubt it. It served to advance a bigger goal.

I agree with that. All the accounts jive with Lynch and here people being caught unprepared and unaware. That being the case, no way could they give any advance notice.

Could be a post hoc mind game, who knows. "We had a mole" implies "we still have a mole," which if they believe, will stress their organization. Other candidates for apprising the reporter are Arpaio's people, who may have had side duty such as traffic control for the caravan. IOW, not FBI directly.
