Another report states: This GRU report, however, states that US military flight logs recorded by Russian air and space forces confirm that Commander Price, and other members of US Navy Seal Team 4, left their base in Urozgan Province, Afghanistan on a flight to US Naval Support Activity Bahrain where they met up with Secretary Clinton and all of them transferred to the C-12 Huron that began a flight path to Baghdad, Iraq. This would also imply multiple injuries.

Given the timing of this report it seems likely that the trip was to do preliminary work towards the Iran negotiations - especially if the intended conferee was Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, reportedly already in Ahvaz. Given the high level of all diplomatic participants and the sensitive subject matter possibly being considered, one would not expect very much 'staff' participation - only absolutely necessary personnel.
