If they thought they could pull it off they would have done it already.

If Trump fired Mueller, the media would beat the drums relentlessly and the polling would start. If they could sell the same story they haven't been able to sell since the election, then impeachment would start. Otherwise it would be the same old crap.

But that wouldn't be the best way to proceed anyway. The attorney general -- whoever that is, is the best person to deal with this situation, which is why the dirtbags in congress don't want Sessions fired. In fact, that is probably why Sessions maneuvered himself into the attorney general position in the first place, so he could sit on his hands in service of the deep state.
