— FB doesn’t have ads, does it? —
It’s loaded with ads.

What I hear from small, micro and indie advertisers is that FB ads are way too expensive for the ROI to their businesses. Every marketing article, vlog and blog will list FB ads as a “must have” and I have yet to see any small advertiser or indie creative advertiser jump up and down praising the results.
I hear the same about those Kindle ads that show up every time you open your Kindle and before you unlock to the content. A lot of those ads may be part of package deals for Amazon vendors and Amazon Kindle properties. Meaning they are simply filling their own space, not attracting a lot of outside revenue.
So, while there are lots of ads, we don’t know who is ultimately buying the space. If it is Amazon itself, then that aspect of the business model is not very successful.
The ads sold to big biz based on their scrapped personal content, OTOH,are probably wildly profitable, since they are so minutely targeted.
