The Pittsburgh Penguins and Vegas Golden Knights will be looking to make history when the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin Wednesday.
The Penguins, who are trying to become the first team to win three straight Stanley Cup championships since the New York Islanders from 1980-83, will host the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round at PPG Paints Arena (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports). The Golden Knights, who are looking to win the Cup in their inaugural season, play their first playoff game against the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena (10 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).

(let me know if you want on or off the ping list)
I have only one question. Will the Caps continue their record of postseason futility, or is this the year they break through with a deep playoff run? Ovechkin ain’t getting any younger!
My brackets have Nashville and Pittsburgh again meeting in the finals, but this time, Nashville wins.
You always need to watch for those middling teams who are getting hot as they enter the playoffs. Who might that be? Toronto? Anaheim? I just don’t see either of them as strong enough though.
Please add me to your Hockey Ping list.
Well, they’re starting with Grubauer in net so I think they realize that time is short for them and Ovi.
Holtby is looking a little shaky right now and Gruby has played solid.
The Devils are fast and will put the Caps aging defense to the test.
No Stars, No Red Wings.
So I’m rooting for Toronto.
You’re on!
Welcome to the team!
I predict very good news in May -
Ovie will be two under par.
(Long, long suffering Caps fan here. I expect them to win the Cup about the time that all of the Deep-State corruption is exposed)
But I guess we can always hope!
(always wondered about your nic - is it the card game, the drink, or Rumsfeld?)
Pulling for a Leafs/Jets Cup, but won’t happen.
Haven’t had an all Canada Stanley Cup in a very long time.
Last Canadian Stanley Cup winner was Montreal in 1993.
Toronto and Boston are the only “Original Six” teams in the Playoffs.
My beloved Habs.
When I die, I want the Habs to be my pallbearers so they can let me down one last time.
As a Habs fan in Ontario, I’ll pull for the Jets and only resign myself to Toronto if they outlast Winnipeg.
I’m hoping that Toronto can replicate its last collapse against Boston—but that would be too much to hope for.
Here is a link to a you-tube video of Hitler’s take as Toronto blows the 4-1 lead.

And since I was a huge fan of the “Broadstreet Bullies” in the 70s, I’d kind of like to see the Flyers do well.
Should be a great series against Pittsburgh.
The Kings will take that series.
My peewee hockey uniform down in Texas way back when was the Blackhawks so I usually pull for them.
But this year...
Loathe the Dallas Stars.
Hopefully Houston will get an NHL franchise soon.
Thank You!
