If he hated it so much, why did he not let the lease run out and rent or buy something else?
He would have been required to have renters’ insurance on his belongings; art etc., wonder if it was a potential insurance scam or revenge on Trump, attempting to burn the building down?

Sounds to me like they know an arson report is about to surface and they’re doing a preemptive. The FDNY knows the story and are probably hopping mad if it’s arson, since some of them were injured.
I think there’s a pretty decentertaining likelihood there’s foul play involved here somehow. Be interesting to see who’s handling the case and how.
