How much of that $4.00 per gallon is state taxes?
We all know that there is federal tax on motor fuel of $0.184 per gallon
State taxes account for the difference. We’re paying $2.699 in western NY. Another $1.00 per gallon in Commifornia?

It is hard to get to an exact number. You can play around with those line items, then you still have a hidden tax caused by special CARB formulation requirements and the shortage of West Coast refineries, caused by decades of envirowhackoism. So its not something for which there is a clean, straightforward number.
