For what it’s worth, one at qanon.posts suggests that RR and Mueller kicked this Cohen activity into the NY state jurisdiction, because while the president may issue pardons for federal charges, only a governor can issue pardons for state charges.

A stretch on the motive for all this, but there it is.

The office that did the raid is Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the warrant is from a federal magistrate, under request from federal US Attorney office, which happens to be the one inthe Southern District of NY. Rumored violations are federal offenses. Trump has pardon power here.

I'm a little curious about this Geoffrey Berman. Nothing sticks out as requiring him to recuse. As we know, donating money is not cause for recusal. Was his recusal spontaneous? When was it made?
