I remember talking on the phone, pausing before I hung up after the conversation, and hearing a dozen clicks from neighbors listening to my conversation. LOL

When I was a kid we did have party lines. Multiple clicks on the line after saying “bye”. Lol

Party lines, those were the days. We were fortunate, only had 2 on our line. Recall in the early 50's (probably late 40's also, can't remember that far back, was born in 46) our phone number was only 4 digits 4467. Then later in the 50' two letters were added in front of the numbers, CL-4467, dialed as 25-4467.

The "CL" stood for "Clinton"????
