Wouldn’t have had industrial then technological revolution. People generally want to avoid mindless, strenuous work such as fetching water from miles away or working in mosquito encrusted fields. When you have slaves to do these tasks there is no reason to innovate to minimize the energy and resources to complete tasks. If there are no slaves, people will first provide services to those willing to pay. Over time, they will innovate and create technologies that allow them to provide those services at the absolute minimum cost and use of resources.

I think the social pressure against slavery would have continued to build, and eventually it would sweep through the South in the same manner it did the North, albeit more slowly.

I believe someone had invented a mechanical cotton picker around 1870 or so.
