To re-re-purpose a cliche, sometimes an earthquake is just an earthquake. It would take a massive amount of explosives to simulate the energy of an earthquake, but nothing can simulate the depth.
I am interested in all those very shallow earthquakes at Isla Vista, the location of the UC Santa Barbara dorms and frats. Maybe their parties are getting out of hand!
Isla Vista is a conclave of filthy hippies that makes Berkely look like Alabama.
They are still living off the glory of burning down the Bank of America in 1970.
And it's way too close to my old hometown of Lompoc. A surgical strike without hitting Lompoc or Santa Barbara proper would be...ummm...something. No judgements here. If they are gonna launch on California, Isla Vista would be least missed.
Just saying.
