If you’re gonna retire the old computer, think maybe about Running linux on it- perhaps as a dual boot process- linux is much safer than windows on the net- use it as primary online os, email etc-

I didn't know you could run a UNIX type Operating System on a PC like mine. I will look into this. Also what do you think about Lenovo Laptops? I saw one on their website for $679.99 with 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-7500U Processor (2.70GHz 4MB), 12.0GB DDR4 2133 MHz, 1TB 5400 RPM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 940MX 2GB, 15.6" FHD IPS LED AntiGlare (1920x1080) w/integrated camera, DVD recordable, etc.

It has been a long time since i looked at a Laptop and I was leaning towards an HP workstation.

I have Windows 10 on a 11 year old laptop.
No issues so far. I use Windows 7 on a desktop as my main pc.
The spying bugs me about Windows 10.
