Not surprised, this is what’s happening to students who are going out of state and paying premium prices for room and board, often opting for the very basic of meal plans and supplementing with groceries they can buy cheaper.
These colleges and Universities are milking the students who have capped their student loan amounts.

If we didn’t make so much money available to borrow, the colleges would have kept their prices in line with actual costs.

I’ve got a kid about to graduate. He worked full time summers, part time at a campus job and now has a solid part time job in his engineering field.

He actually cleared $30,000 last year working part time.

There’s always stripping. Oh, that’s right. Feminists have taught them to look ugly.

True bullshite! All college students are eligible for SNAP. $200 in food assistance per month. Or they could live on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches like my huband and I did, back in the fifties!

Spending your room and board money on drugs will do that to you.

It’s a matter of priorities.

It may be hard but at least for all that debt they will have a worthwhile degree in Womyn's Rights and Transgender Queer Feminism in a Patriarchal Society.
They should go far with that.
By the way, why are so many of these starving yutes so fat?

I’m not buying it ... maybe they should ditch the weekly parties, Spring vacations to Mexico or the Caribbean, or cut the drug habit back.

Cry me a river. If they are so needy, they why don’t the all loving and all knowing liberal profs help them?

We give welfare to deadbeats but not to poor college students. It is ridiculous. I was very poor in college and for few semesters I lived in the 24 hour library and showered at the undergrad gym. As for food, Ramen noodles.

College STUDENTS aren’t so much privileged, but college professors and administrators certainly are. College education prices have been skyrocketing for decades, at many times the rate of inflation. It’s a freaking scam!

Who wants to bet me that they are using cell phones, have a monthly bill in the hundreds, and are going to live concerts?

I know people within 4 miles of where I live who are OFF THE GRID & have no electricity from the power company.

Cry me a river about these ‘college students’.

In order to stop being homeless and starving, getting a job should be the first priority.

When my husband went to college in the 80’s, he was poor. He worked 3 jobs (at a time) to finance his schooling & a room to live in. There were times where he couldn’t afford to buy food, his roommates would buy boxes of mac & cheese so he’d have something to eat. He also shot squirrels for food. People can be poor & go to college, but they usually have to work hard for it.

For the price of Tide Pods, a sly individual could buy a couple cans of chili.

I graduated from veterinary college not owing one red cent. I worked at night at the UTMRC Hospital doing differentials for the hospital and was paid nicely for it. A couple of hours a night got me $20 a night. I took freelance jobs for researchers taking care of their laboratory animals during school breaks. I was also in the National Guard. My GI Bill benefits ran out my first year of veterinary college. There were times I needed to study but I had to work. I turn a deaf ear to students today that say they cannot afford college and are not willing to work and just borrow money to pay for the schooling.

Sarah Barrett didn’t need a grand study to tell her a bunch of students on Kansas State University’s campus had been going without food.

Yeah, i just bet.
