I might try to get a 1911. My dad had one and I fell in love.

I'm a huge fan of the 1911 platform. Get a good one. Smaller ones like officers model are very harsh to shoot. I have a lightweight combat commander, or did before that boating accident, and could shoot that all day long.

All depends on what your perceived need or use is. Nice thing with pellet guns is you can shoot in the house (keep pets out of the room!) or backyard. I got the kids "safe" and proficient at a young age -- as well as interested -- with pellet rifle. Beeman R7. Gorgeous wood, with good pellets all the shots make one hole in the target, scarey accurate. Not a cheap gun either.
