Whenever conditions warranted it, I always added 25 knots (5 kts for may wife and 5 kts each for our 4 children) to my approach speed. Kept me from making contact with the approach lights one time.
In those conditions FW I’d probably take a steeper approach to give me the room when the wind comes. I was in a condition best climb airspeed max power and was still getting blown down at 2500’/min. Fortunately it was enroute and I had the altitude but it was under positive control. Guy wanted to write me up.
