Any chance they took ticket sales for one movie and rolled them over to BP? If it was another Disney film, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind that happening.
Not happening. Chain theaters have their own accounting of receipts and cannot just transfer from one movie to another. And this practice was not unusual. I once spoke with an ABC guy 2 years ago right after Star Wars came out and he hinted they did the same thing. Disney has billions tied in to Star wars and they didnt want to look foolish.
