I read the trilogy about 50 years ago ... but wasn’t the Mule a dictator along the lines of Stalin?
Still, the disruptor aspect is an interesting parallel.
I didn't think of that, but YES. The Donald would be the mule. His invulnerability to the mind control techniques of the Second Foundation combined with his own powers allowed him to disrupt the plan and throw the whole thing out of whack.
The Mule was a mutant incapable of reproduction. And, like the Mule. He is a one time shot. After the Mule was neutralized, the Seldon plan healed itself and continued apace. The Donald needs an heir, or all his good work is for nothing. And please don't say Mike Pence or Rubion. There is only one Mule.

P.S. The first foundation would be, in our reality, the actual mechanisms of civilization and open to observation. The Second Foundation was a hidden society of "mind controllers" with mental powers who "tweaked" individuals in just the right places to manipulate events on a grand scale. Do we have any organizations like that in our realilty? Or individuals?
