looks like a big foot to me?
if those checkerboard squares are 1”, then the foot is about 8”-9” wide & maybe twice that long.

Probably cm, 8-9 cm wide is ≈3-1/2" wide by ≈7" long. This could be a child's footprint.

Since the total number of tiles or squares in the longitudinal direction is an even ten, the scale is most likely to be metric.
