Dad was top of his class in law school and clerked for a federal judge. THere he did a case against the Klan. They blocked his chances to join a BIG law firm. Yes our family had had a cross burned in yard previously
1 we were active republicans in a democrat/Klan area and 2 an uncle married an “Indian Princess “. Their son, Woody Crumbo became a famous Native American artist.
Dad was more than happy to stick it to leader of Indiana KKK
He had a private practice Was an attorney for welfare department for 30 plus years and often went to home of the elderly and blacks who had trouble getting to town. He truly served the people.
