I’ll jump in here again if I may, because this question is far from trivial. The word religion is used to enact legislation with a tremendous effect on lives. The malignant activism of atheists is often grounded in their false claim of being “nonreligious.”
Clarifying terms will help:
The word religion is not equivalent to “belief in God.”
The word religion is equivalent to “a system of belief establishing worldview, and the behavior patterns derived from such belief.”
Worldview means most basic view of how reality is structured. Behavior pattern means the things a person does, says, thinks and feels.
Yes one must always check or ask people one is interacting with what their premise or personal worldview is before framing a question or answer. When one is cognizant of the worldview of the recipient one is truly able to be all things to all people through communication framed in a manner that can be understood by the parties involved.
Also, drives the libs nuts if you answer the question in their vernacular but to your standards. Blows their noncritical thinking minds. MAGA!
