The so-called performance are a weird bunch. I recall a performance artist (Germany?) in the 1970s or 80s who killed himself in so-called of performance art.

There was one performance/installation artist named Chris Burden who at least had a sense of humor about his performances. He had one piece entitled "You'll Never See My Face in Kansas City" in which he sat in a museum in Kansas City with a ski mask over his face.

But he was the exception to a group of mostly pretentious bores.
