Al Franken, D-Minn., wrote a letter in March 2017 to the FBI urging agents to investigate "all contacts" Sessions may have had with Russians ...McCabe pretty much has to do what Leahy orders. Not that McCabe likely didn't hope to find something there, by his admission he does not trust Sessions, he hates Trump, etc., and having Leahy as cover is helpful.

That has to be walked back in order to introduce the revenge motive.
