John cared for her for many reasons. One main one is that she was already recognized as an ‘artist’ on her own and another is that she was utterly unimpressed with his wealth and fame (being from *VERY* wealthy family, just below and interrelated with that of the Emperor’s, IIRC). I imagine that was pleasant after years of being fawned over by women more in love with ‘ a Beatle’ than the person themselves.
“Artist?!”
Have you ever heard her “sing?” - Good Lord! She sounds like she gargled with razor blades and kerosene. As for example: “Don’t Worry” - If you can listen to that torturous screech all the way through, you’re a better man than I.
John was happiest with May Pang and she was big in bringing John back into Julian’s life and also made a great friend connection with Cynthia. May and Cynthia are still friends to this day and Julian remembers he started to have a father in his life when they were with May. May and Cynthia are both beautiful inside and out.
John did not want to go back to Yoko but told May he had to sort out some business dealings with Yoko and that don’t worry, he would be back for sure.
But Yoko had some mystical hold over him. Perhaps something occult because in 1980 John was openly coming out for Christ and wanting to return to his roots in England. His English family was all excited they were going to have Johnny back again. And then he was murdered.
If only he had been able to get back to May Pang.
Whatever Lennon’s reason for being attracted
to Yoko, it sure sopped up a lot of ugly.
