Spieth has the utmost admiration for the great players who have came before him and gives them the respect they deserve and has called on them for advice. Woods on the otherhand has never asked anyone for advice, whether it has been on his game or how to get his life back on track. Jack Nicholas was interviewed a couple years ago and was asked had Woods ever called on him for advice. The answer was never. From the minute Woods hit the scene and all the media drooled over him he thought thought he was the grestest player of all time and there was no need to consult anyone about the game of golf. He was the most arrogant prick that played the game in the last 40 years. Hopefully he’s changed. I doubt it.

The last couple of tournaments the cameras have stayed on Tiger after he’s hit lousy shots, and he’s showing much more self control than his former F-bombing a-hole days. It’s never too late to get a bit of humility.

I don’t think that Tiger Woods is any nastier of a prick than Sam Snead, In fact, I’d say he is more of a gentleman and sportsman on course than Snead ever was. I never watched Woods up close but I did Snead. Tiger had lots of formal training beginning with that administered by Earl when TW was still pooping in diapers. He dominated at such a young age and continued until his body parts broke, not his golf brain. The current crop of young-uns seem to me to be weaker between the ears while Tiger seems much more old school like Player and Trevino. So if and when Tiger gets used to all the requisite golf motions with his patched up spine, he may be able to win a bunch more in the future. If not, he can still glom appearance money especially in Asia and the Middle East. I don’t care whether he makes the cut at the Masters or is in the hunt on the back nine Sunday afternoon. I like a couple of foreigners like the Swede Noren and the Thai Aphibarnrat who is refer to as “The barn rat” since he sort of resembles a chubby agricultural rodent but is a fearsome assassin on the golf course.
