I wonder if the AP ever considered that his "big ideas" may not be provable? Hawkins certainly deserves credit for living an extraordinary life with a terrible disease. That doesn't make him infallible. He had a number of goofy ideas, too. One was "we have only a hundred years to leave earth, or we will face extinction".
