The only symptoms were that my heart suddenly slowed down to 45 bpm when the electrician retired.

58 years old, here. And my rest pulse is 48 beats per minute. Should I be concerned?

Regards,

That depends on a variety of things. While I am certainly not a medical professional and in no way qualified to give medical advice, I have learned a few things since my adventure in November, after reading the literature in my cardiologists office.

First is what your long term bpm has been. Everyones body operates differently. If it has been around 48 bpm for years, and you receive regular medical care, probably nothing to worry about. Maybe ask your doctor about it next time you're in, to set your mind at ease.

If your heart rate has slowed down to 48 bpm recently, or you get tired and/or short of breath easily, then I would advise seeking medical care soonest.

In any case, you should ask your doctor about your heart rate.
