And in such a messy field, discerning the true facts can be a challenge.

Marzulli had to admit he'd fallen for a hoax with the small 6" or so 'alien' figure that was proven to be constructed out of chicken bones or whatever. But he owned up to it and had said all along that it might not be authentic.

He's pretty much a stickler for letting the data speak for itself.
