I don’t get this. If you want to reference a post you click on the # of the post they replied to and if you are far behind when you read a good post, you click View Replies so you can see what others have already responded.

Addendum:
In threads this long with so many different conversations going, think about copying & pasting a few pertinent words before commenting. It speeds up the flow.
You can bookmark w/o adding to the clutter on thread. Click the star in the address bar, which adds the page you stop on to your bookmarks. When you return, link from your own bookmarks, delete the bookmark you used and at the end of your session, add a new bookmark.
(and yes, we probably all know that an *All* does not ping everyone on the thread. It does, however, make the point that everyone should read)
Bookmarks keep the thread bumped to the top.
