...Christians have always referred to the land of Israel as Palestine.

I don't know what kind/denomination of Christians you've been hanging around with, but that hasn't been my experience at all.
Are you British/European?

IIRC, the term Palestine dates back to Rome. The Romans used that term as a dig at the Jews. It was a derivative of Philistines and it was used as a slur to call the Jews Palestinians.

The irony is the real Palestinians are the Jews.

Pentecostal - Southern California. Yeah so maybe them folks in the 60's were smokin something. Like it or not, thats the way I was raised. Ya can't change that.

My own personal studies of history confirms. Obviously the write of the theory believes the same. Maybe we both need to check our own belief system.

refer to Israel as Paliestine. I am checking my belief system

From Wikipedia

The Land of Israel (Hebrew: אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל‬, Modern Eretz Yisrael, Tiberian ʼÉreṣ Yiśrāʼēl) is the traditional Jewish name for an area of indefinite geographical extension in the Southern Levant. Related biblical, religious and historical English terms include the Land of Canaan, the Promised Land, the Holy Land, and Palestine

(see also Israel (disambiguation)). The definitions of the limits of this territory vary between passages in the Hebrew Bible, with specific mentions in Genesis 15, Exodus 23, Numbers 34 and Ezekiel 47. Nine times elsewhere in the Bible, the settled land is referred as "from Dan to Beersheba, and three times it is referred as "from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt” (1 Kings 8:65, 1 Chronicles 13:5 and 2 Chronicles 7:8).

Did "your" church teach from the Bible. I remember as a 6 year old on, every Sunday, Pastor gets up, first thing he says "open your Bible to . . . " it was pretty simple.
