Wow. The ABC Diversity police were out in force last night.

I have loved American Idol throughout its run and really feel there is some amazing talent this year, but it was obvious that the judges threw a hissy fit last night. They got pissed off at AMERICA'S CHOICES and had to make sure the entire diversity card was filled.

The judges picks were PURELY agenda driven and nothing else.

Look at who America picked:
Two white Country Singers (Gabby and Caleb)
Two White Singer/Songwriter types (Maddie and Catie)
A white rocker (Cade)
and a black with an AMAZING Singing gift (Michael)

And based on pure talent and their Sunday night performances, America got it 100% correct.

The judges unfortunately were not picking based on talent, but instead were probably ordered to fill out the top 10 with exactly who they put in.

Had they gone on Talent and Sunday/Monday performances the last 4 were clearly Garrett, Mara, Dennis and Jurnee.

While they did pick 2 of the 4 it was crystal clear from the start that Garrett (White Country), Jonny (no talent anyway), and Mara (white singer/songwriter) were out. The country and singer songwriter quotas were filled by America, and Jonny was so far out of his league it was sad.

So it came down to the Illegal Immigrant Michelle (BY FAR THE WORST CONTESTANT), The Lesbian Activist Jurnee (Who did deserve a spot), and the Transvestite (ADAM) being DECREED in by ABC.

The final spot was then to go to the likable Black Father doing right by his family. In this case Dennis made that choice a no brainer with his performances.
