I’m too old to take a stand on this, I guess, but I got married in 1972, at the height of the “hippie days”, and we were a hippie couple for sure. I don’t want to go into detail, as it gets kind of personal, but we got married, stayed married, had kids, had grandkids, and here we are.
Marriage is a sham. You make vows but don’t really have to honor them. Who signs a contract that can be cancelled by either party at any time? And what man wants to sign that contract where he’s likely to be paying money to her if things go bad?
Marriage is a 3-way contract as the State has inserted itself into the deal.
One of the very few.
Too few to make the risk worth it, for the man. No risk for her. Its all on you bud. And dont get sick, many guys have their wives divorce them - they never see t coming - when they get a serious illness because they wont take care of them and want some of the money hes earned for retirement for themselves.
So... what's your point? What is it you wish to contribute to the conversation?
Regards,

I KNEW IT!!! If there was one hippie couple that survived long term, they’d be on FreeRepublic! (I’ve spent 30 years trying to find that couple)
