Opie wasn’t born in, necessarily. Not to H’weird, anyway. His dad was an actor, but not a H’wood star.

According to Wikipedia, Rance Howard started acting professionally in 1948. No, he wasn't a "star", but he did a LOT of movies and TV as a character actor and bit player. He was in the business most of his adult life. I consider the Howards a show biz family, especially considering Ronny's success on TV and as a director and now his children are actors. Clint Howard is a conservative, though.
