Actually, there have been studies about the effectiveness of race in commercials.

White people’s perception of a place are not affected by the color of the people in the commercials.

People of color were something like 15% more likely to purchase a product because they saw someone that looked more like them.

So, the result is if you are going to try to get everyone to use your product, put people of color in the ads.

Of course that was 10-15 years ago when I did marketing stuff. I am sure its probably still effective. One would think that gays must really fall over themselves when they see a “like” tribe on a TV show. Because the percentage of gay people on TV far exceeds the gays in the wild.

I don’t think that is a valid study any more.

It tells me who they whose business they want. Not mine.
