The Congressional Record is loaded with advocacy for opening US presidency to all comers via naturalization first. Orin Hatch was an advocate, so the watering down of the nation isn't a partisan issue, it is an elite wish-list item.

I've seen Jake Tapper JUMP to defend the forged Obama BC as conclusive proof, when the merest suggestion of qualification was a POTENTIAL line of discussion. Big tell, to me, that it is common knowledge that Obama was not constitutionally qualified.
Polls on the subject blew my mind. The press knows that close to 40% of the public finds Obama not constitutionally qualified. The press can call 40% a "fringe" all day long, doesn't make it so.
