I confess.

I did it.

I was tinkering with my Alien Footprint Faking Machine,
the one I use to do up the Crop Circles in England and
I accidentally left it on my experimental Mars Lander which
I had tethered to a fence post in the back yard.

My grandson was playing unsupervised back there and hit
the launch button. (He’s only six and gets confused with
words like “launch” and “lunch”. Evidently he thought
he’d be getting a PBJ on white bread but got a blast off
instead.)
