FYI: It is Northeastern, anything else is NE ebonics.

That's odd. Even though I've lived out west my entire life, I've always heard this type of storm referred to as a Nor'Easter. Always, be it on US or Canadian broadcasts.

That is the polite translation the MSM gives.

The natives pronounce it Naw-easta.

One is Ebonics, the other trying to be hip with the NE slang.

This Texan had to spend two years in MA.
