To: Behind Liberal Lines

Even if the Oscars weren’t political, no one would watch them. They are a relic of the past. People just don’t like watching these awards shows anymore. Plus, a lot less people watch television, period. So the old days of getting 50 million people to watch a show like this are gone.

Wow....really a relic of the past? That’s only because Hollyweird puts out garbage and I am not interested in that. I used to watch for several reasons.... the opening monologue used to be smart and funny and I could get a sense of movies I might want to see

Now all that’s there is hubris and bitterness and garbage....oh and self congratulatory virtue signaling

Agreed.

Twenty years ago, the nominees were big hit movies like Titanic, As Good as it Gets, Good Will Hunting and LA Confidential.

Now? A bunch of art house films that no one has seen or cares about.
