Heh, we have had a woodchuck tearing up our yard, and I don’t have a dog and can’t shoot it where I live, so...I planned to ambush it with a wrist rocket slingshot.
Frikking thing is so wily and surprisingly quick for such a flat, blubbery looking creature, though, getting myself in a position to get off a shot involves making a mad dash to get line of sight on his exit route and shoot just as he gets there.
Kind of a “Head em’ off at that pass” approach!
Well, my wife was watching me through a window, and when I opened the door and sprinted to the point where the woodchuck was going to squeeze under the fence, my wife’s mouth fell open!
It had been many years since I have run full speed, and I didn’t stop to think if I could do it...she just said “I had no idea you could run that fast!”
