Considering that some movie theaters now charge $14-15 to sit in one of those reclining theater chairs in upscale theaters, it is completely unfair for anyone to bring a small child to the theater and allow it to ruin the theater experience for people who paid that kind of money. You know a 2 y.o. cannot sit still for such an extended time, yet by bringing one to the theater, you show you don't give a ___ about others who want to enjoy the movie. I do NOT condone a stranger whacking a kid who is not their own, but the mother of the screeching kid should have immediately taken it outside and explained that this is not acceptable behavior. How else are they supposed to learn that they have to behave nicely in public places? I mostly avoid movie theaters due to foul-acting teenagers, as it is rare to see a very small kid like this there.
